The McDonald’s Group Italy is part of the McDonald’s Corporation, the multinational fast food chain present in 119 countries. The company has been operating In Italy since 1985, with over 445 restaurants and 100 McCafé serving about 700,000 meals a day. The procedure for adhering to the Standard Qualivita was completed in April 2012, with a positive outcome. Control Plan The Control Plan acknowledges the requirement categories that are communicated by McDonald’s Italy through press releases and the www.persapernedipiu.info website. An attempt was made to maintain the form of communications/information given by McDonald’s, and to indicate when the requirement is verified and the proof that must be produced at the time of verification. The document also contains the requirements that are specifically requested by the Standard. The approach used by CSQA during the verification process is that of accountability; that is, to first understand if the element indicated is qualitative, quantitative or qualitative-quantitative. If the element is qualitative they are asked to demonstrate how it was obtained; if it has improved, based on what, when and how. In the event that the element is quantitative it must clear whether it is an estimation, calculation or measurement, and the tool/method used must be specified. McDonald’s evaluation procedure The aim of the inspections carried out by CSQA is mainly to check whether McDonald’s is equipped with a communication management system capable of ensuring the veracity, transparency and diligence of the information over time, as well its compliance with the Standard Qualivita. The CSQA controls are carried out on the basis of communications that McDonald’s wants to put on the www.persapernedipiu.info website and in paper and television advertising material. To ascertain the validity of internal procedures, CSQA has verified:
CSQA carried out inspections at both the McDonald’s headquarters and a sample group of restaurants (through unannounced inspections), as well as at a sample group of suppliers.
