ITA-ItalianMade.com – digital communication campaign for the protection of quality Italian agri-food
The initiative ItalianMade.com, realised by the Italian Trade Agency (ICE) in collaboration with the Qualivita Foundation, is a digital project targeted at consumers in Canada, and is part of the internationalization strategy requested by the Italian Government to combat the phenomena of counterfeiting and Italian Sounding. The project evolved through a communication campaign designed to bridge the gap between the growing demand in the world for Italian products and the lack of knowledge about the true distinctive characteristics of our quality products, in particular PDO, PGI and TSG food and wine products. A portal – ItalianMade.com – and an ‘ad hoc’ social media marketing were created to meet these needs.
- Combat the phenomena of counterfeiting and Italian Sounding
- Promote quality “Made in Italy” agri-food products
- Create digital strategies to support the Italian quality agri-food system
- Canadian consumers
- World wide web users
- Implementing databases, texts and images concerning PDO and PGI products
- Disclosure and diffusion of project results
Increase in consumer awareness in Canada in terms of the distinctive qualities and characteristics of Italian products with a designation of origin when compared to generic products.
