The Foundation promotes and supports Qualivita constantly studies and research on issues such as food safety and traceability, actively collaborating with research institutions and universities. For that reason it has been the Socio-Economic Monitoring Qualivita to monitor and analyze the Italian agri-food sector.
The Socio-Economic Monitoring in fact is the instrument through which the Foundation photographed in detail the most important socio-economic reality of the values reported in Italian products PDO, PGI, TSG. On the basis of data collected, is annually drawn up a detailed report in collaboration with AICIG and University of Rome La Sapienza.
The study is based on three different fronts:
• Legislative Analysis
• Data collection economoci
• Analysis of media
Legislative Analysis: for the writing of the socio-economic Annual Report, the Centre Qualivita studies the main rules governing the agricultural sector in order to enter the data detection in a scenario of legislation to date.
Survey of economic data: analyzing market trends, rates of production and sale of products, the Centre shall draw up detailed statistics on the economic situation of the sector. At this stage it is important to the aid of the producing organism, which is required to complete a specific form and essential for their detection.
Media analysis: The third step taken for the collection of data is the analysis of more than 70 newspapers which help to shape the socio-economic and political development of agricultural sector.
Intersecting data from these three different survey methodologies, we obtain the most significant socio-economic values related to individual products DOP IGP STG to be included in the report.
